Technique and tactics
In most sports, technique and tactics are among the factors that determine performance in elite sport. They are a key part of training for youth and elite athletes. Learning techniques and tactics is also a decisive element of lifelong sport, while the technically correct performance of movements in sport helps to prevent injuries.

Despite the major importance of technique and tactics in performance sport, little research has been done in this specialist area.
The SFISM's Technique and Tactics department primarily develops and designs evidence-based, application-oriented courses for the various training structures in Master's and Bachelor's programmes, as well as in coach education. The department offers advice for Swiss Olympic, performance sport and youth sport coordinators and coaches on questions of technique and tactics. In the area of research and development, the Technique and Tactics department provides support with project planning and implementation.
