Sports physiotherapy is a specialization in the treatment and prevention of general and overuse injuries sustained by athletes. Sports massage aims to aid muscular recuperation following sporting activity.

Sports physiotherapy

All active therapies are applied, along with traditional passive treatment methods. We aim to provide intensive and individual sport-specific support until the athlete can resume training for their sport. We work according to the principles of evidence-based medicine and systematically incorporate new scientific findings in our daily work.

Sports massage

Sports massage is an addition to traditional forms of massage. It aims to aid muscular recuperation following sporting activity. It also helps to prevent sports injuries.

Research and development focus

Sports physiotherapy is concerned with questions relating to rehabilitation in sport and the prevention of injuries to the musculoskeletal system.

  • Development and validation of return to competition scores following sports injuries
  • Development of sport-specific preventive musculoskeletal screening assessments (physio screenings)
  • Collaboration in the development of new technologies to identify and document functional movements (in cooperation with Bern University of Applied Sciences).
