Health and research specialization

Target audience
Graduates with a Bachelor's degree in exercise or sports sciences who wish to specialize in the area of health research and health promotion.
Learning objectives
- Deeper understanding of specific exercise and sports science topics
- Critical analysis of academic research findings
- Ability to apply the findings of academic research in one's own field and further develop them
- Attainment of a Master's degree which entitles the graduate to progress to PhD studies
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in exercise and sports sciences from the University of Fribourg or SFISM, or an equivalent degree awarded by the Faculty of Science at the University of Fribourg.
- BSc in Sport with «Health-Performance-Research» option (UniFR): Direct admission
- BSc in Sport with «Teaching» option (UniFR): Admission with supplementary programme (21 ECTS credits)
- BSc in Sport (EHSM): Admission with supplementary programme (21 ECTS credits)
- Equivalent qualification from another university: Admission with a personal supplementary programme put together by the Faculty of Science at the University of Fribourg
Note: The pre-Master's programme can be followed at the same time as the MSc and must be completed showing positive evidence of competence.
Structure
The Master of Science in Sport with Specialization in Health and Research commences in autumn each year. It is designed to be a full-time course over at least three semesters and is completed with a Master's dissertation.
The degree is equivalent to at least 90 ECTS credit points.
Degree
Successful graduates will attain the degree «Master of Science in Sports with Specialization in Health and Research».
