Sports psychology: Research internship on mental health

For master’s students of psychology or sports science at Swiss universities (3 months)

Programme duration: 3 months

On a broad research project supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), the SFISM is investigating what influences the mental health of Switzerland’s competitive athletes. The planned study will empirically investigate prevalences, influencing factors and interventions. Interested students can complete a three-month research internship as part of this project from January 2022. The minimum requirement is a Bachelor's degree in psychology or sports science.

Brief outline of tasks

The internship offers a deeper insight into psychological research in the field of competitive sport. You will carry out independent literature searches and support the project staff with data processing and writing scientific reports. You will also assist with organising, conducting and evaluating surveys.

Applicant profile

We are looking for enthusiastic master’s students in psychology (ideally with a focus on health psychology or clinical psychology) or sports science (ideally related to psychology) with an affinity for research and an interest in competitive sport and mental health.

  • Remuneration: none
  • Internships run for 3 months (January-March, April-June, July-September, October-December). Please state which of the four options you would prefer.
