Rector Urs Mäder

Together with the assistant rector and SFISM's management board, the rector manages the university and represents it within FOSPO Executive Board as well as externally. He is responsible for the operational direction of the university and for ensuring quality in teaching, research and services. In consultation with SFISM's management board, he decides on all questions that fall within SFISM's overall remit and areas of responsibility. The rector also has a seat on the management board of Bern University of Applied Sciences BFH.

Urs Mäder has been the rector of SFISM since 1 September 2017.

Assistant rector Thomas Wyss

The assistant rector is in charge of certain SFISM business units. He leads the Teaching and sports education section and also acts as prorector Teaching.

Thomas Wyss is the assistant rector of SFISM since 1 September 2020.
