SFISM's MSc in Elite Sports combines sports science with performance sport practice and sports management.
Monitoring and Evaluation unit
The Monitoring and Evaluation unit at the Swiss Federal Institute of Sport Magglingen SFISM is developing survey methods to measure physiological parameters. It uses studies to assess their application with a focus on military and recreational sport. The unit conducts systematic scientific analyses of the value and benefits, efficiency and effectiveness of programmes, concepts, projects or (educational) measures.

Sports technology unit
SFISM conducts applied research and development in the field of measurement technologies and data analysis in close collaboration with engineers from Bern University of Applied Sciences BFH. As its research and development activities focus on the needs of national high-performance sport, the latter benefits from the tailored services offered by SFISM.

A sports medical check-up is part of providing the optimum support to youth high-performance and elite athletes (at least once a year) in order to detect any health problems at an early stage.

The Sports facilities unit is a centre of expertise for building techniques and functionality, for commercial and spatial planning matters, and for the management and maintenance of sports facilities. It makes its knowledge available to both internal and external customers as well as to its partners.
