Semester begins: 113 students start at the SFISM

The autumn semester 2022 began on 19 September. Alongside the ongoing programmes, a total of 31 women and 82 men started the three courses SFISM Bachelor of Science in Sport, SFISM Master of Science in Sports with Specialisation in Elite Sports and Master of Science in Sports Sciences (joint Masters with the University of Fribourg).

Bachelor’s course, 2022-25

13 women and 27 men, including three female and two male elite athletes, got a first taste of studying in Magglingen last Friday at the Starting Day, a special induction day for Bachelor's students. The programme for the day included information and workshops as well as a tour of the new training hall.

Masters in Elite Sport, 2022-24

12 women and 32 men from 15 different universities in Switzerland and four universities abroad are starting the Master’s degree course in Magglingen. The students include three female elite athletes and one coach. The course starts every second year.

Masters in Sports Sciences, commencing autumn 2022

Six women and 23 men are beginning their Master's degree course in autumn 2022. Most of the students are from the University of Fribourg or SFISM, with some from the universities of Bern and Basel, and one from France. It is also possible to begin the joint Master’s degree course with the University of Fribourg in the spring.

No special COVID protection measures

The current situation means that it has been possible to begin the new semester at SFISM without any special COVID protection measures. Lessons are being held face-to-face for Bachelor's, Master's and further education courses.
