Israeli delegation visits Magglingen and Tenero
At the end of May, the Federal Office of Sport received a delegation from Israel’s Wingate Institute, with which it has a cooperation agreement.
In July 2022, the Federal Office of Sport (FOSPO) and the Wingate Institute in Israel signed a cooperation agreement that will run until the end of 2024. In May 2023, representatives of the two institutions met for an exchange.
FOSPO’s Sandra Felix (Deputy Director of FOSPO), Urs Mäder (Principal of the Swiss Federal Institute of Sport Magglingen), Bixio Caprara (Director of the National Youth Sports Centre Tenero), Martina Krieg (Head of National Sports Centre Magglingen) and four members of the FOSPO Executive Board took part in the meeting.
Visit and exchange
On their four-day trip to Switzerland, the Israeli delegation visited the National Sports Centre in Magglingen and the National Youth Sports Centre in Tenero. The visit focused on the FOSPO’s infrastructure and the various activities it carries out.
The participants took the opportunity to exchange views on topics such as services, applied research and data management.
The agreement has no direct legal or financial implications and is intended to promote the mutual transfer of knowledge in competitive sport and on how abuses in sport can be combatted.
Founded in 1957, the Orde Wingate Institute for Physical Education and Sports – Israel’s institute for excellence in sport – is located on 120 hectares in the south of the city of Netanya.
