Continuing education

The continuing education courses at the SFISM enable students to specialise in a variety of sports science disciplines and gain additional qualifications. Programmes include MAS/SFISM and CAS courses as well as one-day or multiple-day modules and seminars. Some of the programmes are run jointly with partners.

Sport in the communes

The range of sports on offer in the communes is increasing all the time and sports infrastructure is becoming more sophisticated. At Magglingen you can study to become a sports coordinator and learn how to develop the optimum mix of sports and infrastructure in your commune through applying the right planning tools and know-how.

Sports infrastructure

The Sports Facilities unit at the SFISM has a wealth of expertise on the functionality, construction and spatial planning of sports facilities as well as on business management aspects of sports infrastructure.

Sports management

Sport is characterised by constant change and sports facilities must keep up with these fast-moving developments. Sports management is becoming an increasingly important subject area. The SFISM, in cooperation with other universities of applied sciences, offers interesting modules that teach key skills in the areas of sports economics and sports management.

Sport and health

The SFISM and the Department of Health at the Bern University of Applied Sciences have developed a course of study on the impact of nutrition on athletes based on physiological principles. The course is aimed at optimising sport performance.

Sports coach education in Switzerland

Sports coach education in Switzerland trains coaches in competitive and elite sport. Within the modular and interdisciplinary programmes, coaches can choose to take individual modules or part-time courses.
