The SFISM has recently become a member of the European network EOSE

By joining the European Observatoire of Sport and Employment (EOSE), the SFISM is strengthening its international network. In doing so, it is setting an example for the further development of sports education in Europe.

The EOSE brings together 38 member organisations (mostly universities) and 47 partner organisations (such as European Athletics and the European Handball Federation) from across Europe with the aim of creating a sports and physical activity sector that fully realises its social, health and economic potential in Europe. To achieve this goal, the network aims to ensure that everyone involved in sport – whether employed or volunteering – has the right skills and qualifications so that the sector remains professional, sustainable and high-performing.

Membership in the EOSE opens up new opportunities for collaboration and knowledge-sharing. We look forward to working together to drive forward sports education in Europe.
Michaël Mrkonjic, Vice-Rector for Research and Development / Head of the Department of Sports Economics at the SFISM

The SFISM actively contributes its expertise in sports science, education and training, and applied research to the network, while simultaneously benefiting from exchanges with partner institutions.

The aim is to work together to drive forward key issues for the future – including the professionalisation of the sports job market, the development of modern skills profiles, digitalisation in teaching and coaching, and issues relating to sustainability and inclusion in sports.
